When you file your taxes with HR Block, you have the option to delete your tax return from their system. To do this, simply log into your account and go to the ‘My Account’ page. The IRS requires that we retain information for accounts that have had an e-filed return, whether it was accepted or rejected, for a period of three years after the tax filing year. This means that the account cannot be deleted during this time.
How long does HR Block keep tax returns?

To permanently delete a form, go to the Deleted forms tab. On the form you want to delete, select More options in the lower right corner of the form tile, and then select Delete. Note: If you delete a form from the Deleted forms tab, the form and all of its responses are permanently deleted.
How many returns can I file with HR Block?
If you’re using H&R Block software to file your taxes, you can file up to five federal returns and one state return. Most of our software options include one personal state return, so you can choose the option that’s best for you.
It is advisable to keep records for at least 3 years from the date of filing your original return, or 2 years from the date you paid the tax, whichever is later. This is in case you need to file a claim for credit or refund at a later date. If you are claiming a loss from worthless securities or bad debt deduction, you should keep records for 7 years.
