How do I stop auto renew
Here are four steps to help you avoid the expense of an auto-renewal clause and keep control where it belongs—with you!
1. Read Your Contract Pre-Emptively
Before signing anything, be sure to read the contract in its entirety. Look out for auto-renewal clauses, and make sure you understand the terms and conditions.
If you find an auto-renewal clause in your contract, there is usually an opt-out provision. Be sure to exercise your right to opt-out in a timely manner.
3. Know Your Point of Contact
If you do find yourself in an auto-renewal situation, it is important to know who your point of contact is. This way, you can effectively communicate your desires to opt-out of the contract.
4. Submit Your Request in Writing
For your own protection, it is always best to submit your opt-out request in writing. This way, you have a record of your conversation and can ensure that your contract is terminated correctly.
5. Monitor Your Statements
After you have submitted your opt-out request, be sure to monitor your statements closely.
