Your blog caught my eye because of the title. Nice!

I am one of the SEO Marketers that say that Twitter is a necessity and I will continue to state the same until they prove differently (lets hope not). I encourage companies to use Twitter as the Twool it can be. Although it is a micro-blogging platform, it still does foster the rapport building and creativity that are the primary element of SMM that is often lost in the profession marketing arena. You are correct, it is not “essential” for those who have sturdy online marketing processes and “cutting edge” strategies, but Twitter could only strengthen what is currently “working” in those cases as well. If Twitter can make them even more successful, then why not. In fact, how could you not. Based on your examples:

    1. Twitter Lists
    2. The Openness of Twitter
    3. Building Valuable Relationships
    4. Traffic That Cares
    5. Staying Current
    6. Connecting with Local Customers
    7. Going International and Multi-lingual
    8. It’s Still Young

as well as the fact that Twitter does have SEO advantages regardless of the fact the added nofollow links … Twitter is a valuable resource because every other integrates with it, thus providing even more viral potential; especially when using structured SMO processes.

I am not quite the Twitter addict that I was when learning how to use it, but since we are always developing in this industry, I do not underestimate it’s potential and the accommodative additions they have made (readding the retweet, Twitter lists, etc). Twitter is quite a valuable seo / social / business resource. It is an essential resource.

Since Twitter added the lists, the way that people use twitter to follow feeds has changed, and it allows regular twitter users to block out all the spam and ads in the feeds they look at. Also, is not as relative to average users because they can put their favorite tweeters into a list. For those who have never put anything of interest on their twitter accounts, and are just trying to yell over all the other promoters and sellers by cranking up the bots to max speed, twitter may not be very useful any more. For those who were using twitter to make real contacts with real people before, the lists have made it better than ever.

By saying NO to Tweitter you say also NO to your promotion, because for me Twitter is one of the best tools for promotion.

Twitter gives a big boom in when it comes to online marketing. It helps me a lot to do my thing. I got my color copies online because of it.
